D-Day 70yr Anniversary

in just over in a few hours the ~D-Day invasion began 70yrs ago,many didnt want to fight but had to on all sides,just few nutcases wanted to,lets not celebrate,let us just remember the many that gave there lives for a War many did not want and for our freedom..personally i think this day should be a national holiday across Europe and the US/Can... so no one forgets the sacrifice

Amen Kracken! I was on holiday but my kids were in the Statue of Liberty on 06 June. The French sent a destroyer over here to NYC and covered the bay around the statue with red rose petals as they watched. Not sure what that means but I think they were appreciative of the sacrifice my Dad and UK soldiers made that day and on through to Berlin. So hopefully we all made a difference 70 years ago by stopping the Nazi threat!
