Out of bounds assets

Been thinking about this lately and after a conversation with Sailcat I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't care.

It' typically starts with so-and-so is out of bounds with such-and-such doing thing-a-thing.

In my limited game play time, I have yet to encounter a situation that is not "defeatable". In most cases, if the enemy is doing something to you from out of bounds, DO IT BACK!

2 examples come to mind:

1) Gulian Peaks Rush map:
Situation: mortar is out of bounds
Solution: Equip a mortar and take out the mortar in the out of bounds space.

2) Zavod and the rocket truck
Situation: Rocket truck is taken back to the spawn, out of bounds (to foot and vehicle assets).
Solution: Equip a chopper with engineers and rockets (or a class with jeep-stuff). Helis can fly the entire map.

I have yet to see where someone can gain an ABSOLUTE advantage by "hiding" out of bounds, so again IMHO we should stop caring and use the appropriate in game force to resolve the issue.

Thoughts?

For those Missile Trucks in the spawn you can mortar them too in Zavod.

The problem with this is that then we open a Pandora box where you will start getting pawned in your own spawn. It starts with killing assets and very soon it's you can't even walk in your own spawn. This has been a problem since BF2 and the best solution we have found so far is no shooting from/to uncaps. If we are not careful we'll have the Colonel 100 capping our uncaps. :hunter:

We shouldn't care about it and for the one's that make it their mission to go after the missile truck or the mortar in the spawn areas, well kudos for you. Leave it at that and quit complaining in TS about it.

Of all the maps that I have used the Mortar on, Gulian Peaks is the exception. I'm talking from a stand point of using the Mortar myself. If you used the Mortar and have played it in defense and offense mode you know were you can setup the Mortar to be the most effective on all the maps in BF4. You also know what are the limitations of the Mortar, as well as, the boundaries of the map. Usually, I tried to setup the Mortar so that I can have a greater field of view but unfortunately for me the opposing players are looking for me or a counter battery of Mortars takes place. I guess, I'll ever make it to 1100 Mortar kills. :ireful2:

Agree, Waggs. Jag and I have used a quad and C4 against the rocket truck on Zavod. You die but so do they. :nhl_fight:

Without getting too dramatic, this is how I see the issue:

We have eased up quite a bit on our rules lately but the no shooting in or out of uncap area makes a good uniform rule for all maps . The kill command is a good way to enforce that rule . Knowledge of the difference in game modes is important because black zones and an uncap are not the same thing . On rush maps the combat area is verry small but the defenders see a black zone that the attackers do not see and vice versa .

Nothing pisses me off more than playing Zavod and my entire squad is chasing a rocket truck when I want to get to the C or B flag to cap on my most recent spawn. Screw the rocket truck. Tommy had a really good post about the UNCAP rule on this thread. I hate the vehicle maps but have played enough of them to know that most of the UNCAPS do not impact gameplay even when someone is sitting in them with an APC/IFV or a Tank. Look at the flags people. If you don't have any then try to take some. If you have them all then let them come out to take the closest to their base. Otherwise just keep capping flags. I am tired of hearing that some poor losing team is firing from their UNCAP when your team has most of the flags.

Regarding Tommy's post...there is a bigger problem here than UNCAP firing and it is unbalanced teams. More often than not the spawn area rules get blurred on the Metro map when frustrated players start sniping from the museum because they have no flags and the winning team starts killing the losers in loserville when they are spawning. It is a dynamic situation from game to game and hopefully someone on procon can keep things balance manually since the plug in tends to keep squads together.

My two cents, even though I havnt been on BF4 lately.

People in the uncap make playing the objective easier most of the time if your on the opposing team. So let it happen.

Really not that big of a deal to me, never fully understood the rule, choppers. planes, mortars ect all take them out. Plus like I said, one less person to worry about most of the time.
